Jen Garrido was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA on December 21, 1974. After high school she moved to Northern California where in 1998 earned a BFA in painting at Sonoma State University and then her MFA at Mills College in Oakland, CA in 2001.  After graduate school Jen taught K – 8th grade art and also co-founded  and designed for a small paper goods business called Dog & Pony Show Designs. From 2004 - 2007 was an Affiliate Artist at the Headlands Center for the Arts. Jen has shown her work both nationally and internationally and her paintings have been featured in magazines such as Harpers and CMYK. Currently, Jen lives and works in San Francisco with her fiancé Josh, cat named Puppy and dog named Peanut.
